"On the recent Wave Goodbye tour, we were unable to professionally film the band’s performance of The Downward Spiral at Webster Hall, due to exorbitant fees requested by the LiveNation venue. Our open camera policy, however, remained in tact, and as soon as the show ended fans took matters into their own hands, organizing online to track down everyone who had filmed HD footage of the show. Now, only two months later, the group has released a polished, edited, downloadable DVD of the full Downward Spiral performance from Webster Hall. The entire thing has been recorded, edited, and distributed entirely by fans, and it’s the latest example of the amazing things fans will do when their creativity isn’t limited by outdated, misguided restrictions."

GOOGLE's New Music Search.....Ho Humm....Nothing New Really....
I don't see anything here that's gonna make me run and use it.... they need to expand it to all artists, not just "their selection".... a BIG FAT ZERO!
Google strikes deals with MySpace, Rhapsody and Lala to make search musical

Search giant Google has gone live with its new music-search feature and has struck partnership deals with MySpace, iLike, Rhapsody, Pandora, imeem and Lala to provide a search service that also includes audio previews of a song.
Google says the new service not only makes search better but also helps users discover new sources of licensed music.
“If you’re searching for music, ‘time to result’ is really ‘time to music’,” explained Murali Viswanathan, product manager with Google. “Now, when you enter a music-related query — like the name of a song, artist or album — your search results will include links to an audio preview of those songs provided by our music-search partners MySpace (which just acquired iLike) or Lala.
“When you click the result you’ll be able to listen to an audio preview of the song directly from one of those partners. For example, if I search for (21st Century Breakdown), the first results provide links to songs from Green Day’s new album. MySpace and Lala also provide links to purchase the full song.”

CLEAR CHANNEL - Things A Little Rough At Corporate

The financially-shaky Clear Channel Communications is now bidding adieu to president and chief financial officer Randall Mays. The development was announced internally on Tuesday, and is now being widely reported across a number of major outlets.
Randall is one of the sons of Clear Channel founder Lowry Mays, and brother of current chief executive Mark Mays, who will now assume stripes as president as well. Randall is stepping into the softer vice chairman role, and will retain a board seat at the company.
The development is the latest in a string of departures, as Clear Channel struggles to handle a massive debt load. The heavily-leveraged Clear Channel was purchased by private equity duo Bain Capital LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners LP for $24 billion, a price tag that has now become an albatross. According to one insider close to the company, Clear Channel now faces the distinct possibility of defaulting on its debt obligations. The company has recently weathered double-digit quarterly declines in radio advertising revenues.

ZURI ALLN STAR - Hello From China

"Hello from my tour in China, first stop Shanghai"
Just arrived last night in Shanghai.. The plane ride over was a little over 12 hours, but was super comfy. The seats were like having a lazy boy in a moving living room, complete with movies and snacks.
Upon arriving our host picked us up with Mimosas and drove us to our hotel. The billboards on the freeway were the entire length of the over pass, and very modern looking. All the signs were in English and in Chinese.
Our host educated us that there were 20 million people inside of Shaghai. Surprisingly though there weren't that many cars on the road. Our 40 minute drive was similar to that of L.A. or New York, lot's of high rise buildings and fast moving cars. A train at one point passed us going 240 miles per hour and made us feel like we were crawling at 70mph.....
